Every file is vector-first: take the SVG for print and anything that scales, the PNG where a tool will not accept SVG. PNGs have a transparent background. “For dark backgrounds” means white lettering; “for light backgrounds”, ink lettering. The shield is the same red in both.
The shield and the name. The default: use it wherever there is room for the whole name — articles, partner and speaker listings, event pages, slides.
Minimum 120 px wide on screen, 30 mm in print.
The shield and SC. For narrow places where the full name would be too small to read: app bars, table cells, small badges.
Minimum 48 px wide on screen.
The shield alone. For avatars, favicons and places that already carry the name in text next to it.
Minimum 16 px tall on screen.
The shield red belongs to the logo; the signal red is the accent the site uses for markers and highlights. They are different on purpose — please do not correct one into the other. Every value has a copy button.
The shield in every logo. Use it only for the logo.
The accent: section markers, rules, the one highlighted word. Never a background for body text.
The canvas. StarCompliance is a dark brand: logos, banners and slides sit on ink.
Raised surfaces on ink: cards, panels, table heads.
The light background, for print and light layouts. Use the light-background logos on it.
Text and the star in the shield.
Both are free under the SIL Open Font License and served by Google Fonts. The logo's lettering is drawn, not typed — no font reproduces it, so always use the logo file rather than typing the name in a font that looks close.
